Y-Strap Adjustments in NYC are hard to find. There are only a handful of chiropractors who do them. And I, Dr. Ralph Napolitano, am known as The Bronx Chiropractor have preformed thousands of Y-Strap Adjustments safely and effectively.
What Is A Y-Strap Adjustment?
The Y strap, is a y-axis traction strap that decompresses the spine along the y-axis of your body. In other words it tractions your spine right down the middle of your body.
It’s hands-on spinal decompression, that gently decompresses your spinal vertebrae by gently stretching your spine to elongate your spine and creates space between them to relieve tension, pressure and stress off of your spine and nervous system.
Here’s how the Y-Strap Adjustment works:
- The Y strap is secured tightly around the base of your skull towards the top of your neck.
- The strap is secured in the middle and creates a Y-shape at the top of the strap that leads into the handgrip that I use to traction your spine.
- I hold the handgrip with both hands and position the strap up and away from your body.
- I gently, but firmly, pull the Y-Strap away from your body to decompress your spine and release all the tension, pressure and stress that is causing you pain.
I also do a small side-to-side wiggle to increase mobility of your spine and to help ease the tension before I preform the Y-Strap Adjustment.
In most cases you will hear a “crack” that is a pressure change inside your joints. It’s just air escaping just like when you open a wine bottle. You pull the cork, pressure is released from the bottle and you hear a “pop”.
